Bayern Munich went into Wednesday's Champions League clash with Benfica with just three points from their first three games in Europe's top club competition.
A win was therefore desperately needed, as Jamal Musiala, who scored the only goal in Bayern's 1-0 victory, admitted after the game.
"We did well. We found it a bit difficult to get into the game. We all knew we had to win the game," Musiala told DAZN.
Bayern Munich have had no problems scoring goals this season, but "only" found the net once against Benfica.
That doesn't worry Musiala, who pointed out that getting the three points was the most important thing.
“We are not going to win every game 4-0. Sometimes 1-0 is enough. This was a good step and we'll keep looking ahead.”
Next up for Musiala and Bayern is an away trip to St. Pauli in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
