Napoli are close to agreeing a deal to sign Marcos Leonardo from Al Hilal in a swap involving Lorenzo Lucca, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Brazilian forward has 20 appearances and 12 goals in the 2025/26 season. His most recent strike came in early January, a 2-0 away win over Damac in the Saudi Pro League.

Flamengo had explored the market for attacking reinforcements and were linked with Marcos Leonardo. The Rio club did not lodge an official bid with Al Hilal. He was viewed as plan B, with Kaio Jorge the priority target, but Flamengo failed to reach financial terms with Cruzeiro.

Napoli are also in talks with Wolverhampton over João Gomes, a Flamengo academy product. The Brazilian club are monitoring that negotiation, as they retain 14% of the midfielder’s economic rights.

So far, Flamengo have added two signings for 2026, centre-back Vitão and goalkeeper Andrew. The club are advancing negotiations to bring in Lucas Paquetá from West Ham.
