Napoli have earmarked about €35 million to prise Richard Ríos from Benfica next season, a figure close to Benfica’s €40 million baseline to open talks.

The Italians have tracked the Colombia international for months and view him as a midfield priority. According to Record, they must complete a sale before making any formal move.

Frank Anguissa is likely to leave after five seasons, creating budget and room for Benfica’s No 20. Napoli are also in a coaching transition, awaiting only the official confirmation of Massimiliano Allegri as head coach to speed up market business.

From Benfica’s side, Ríos is among the players Marco Silva wants to keep. Even so, the Rui Costa-led hierarchy would consider a transfer only for an offer deemed irresistible.

Ríos joined from Palmeiras in summer 2025 for €27 million. The 26-year-old’s debut campaign was inconsistent but he finished strongly, producing eight goals and six assists in 45 outings. He is now preparing for the first World Cup of his career with Colombia.
