Serie A champions SSC Napoli have submitted an opening bid to Racing Club de Lens for France youth international Andy Diouf (22), according to Fabrizio Romano. Antonio Conte’s Partenopei have reportedly offered Lens a €20m transfer package for the signing of the former FC Basel midfielder. Diouf has also attracted interest from Premier League sides, including Crystal Palace and Burnley, earlier in the summer.
Andy Diouf joined Lens from Basel in a €14m move two years ago. He has three years left on his contract with the Artois side. Lens currently value Diouf at around the €23m mark. Considering Napoli are back in the Champions League, Conte would need midfield reinforcements to ease the load off the likes of Scott McTominay and Frank Anguissa. Lens host Lyon this Saturday for Ligue 1’s opening day.
