Over half of the Eintracht community voted for Nathaniel Brown as their Mainova Player of the Season.
Anyone who’s worked with Nathaniel Brown in the two years that he’s worn the Eintracht Frankfurt shirt is not short of compliments for the 22-year-old. New head coach Adi Hütter also proved to be clued up when he spoke about the World Cup-bound Germany international at his first press conference on Monday: “He’s a great player. I’ve seen him in a lot of games and he’s impressed me hugely. A modern left-back with tremendous speed.”
The Eintracht fans who took part in the vote for the Mainova Player of the Season also expressed their appreciation, with over half of them – around 51 percent – choosing Brown as their standout performer of the campaign. Jonathan Burkardt came second with 13 percent, followed by Can Uzun (nine).
The numbers speak for themselves. Brown featured in 42 of Eintracht’s 44 matches in all competitions last season, the most along with captain Robin Koch. In the Bundesliga alone, no Eagle featured more often than Brown, who made 33 appearances, including 29 starts. He posted four goals and four assists in the league, as well as two assists in the UEFA Champions League. In his debut season in Europe’s premier club competition, the left-back started in all eight games in the league phase.
Even when the opponents had possession, Brown was on the ball, as shown by his 81 tackles in the Bundesliga – the highest figure in the team.
His strong performances this term were rewarded with selection for the 2026 World Cup. In announcing his squad, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann said: “Sometimes I think you don’t realise how good you are and what you’re capable of – the athleticism, the creativity and the brilliant positional play you have. You can have a great World Cup, believe in yourself and give it all you’ve got.”
