Former Barcelona star Gerard Piqué has tonight made use of the opportunity to rub salt in the wounds of all associated with Real Madrid.

This, of course, comes after Barcelona utterly embarrassed their arch rivals on their own turf.

The latest edition of El Clásico played to completion a short time ago.

And, when all was said and done at the Santiago Bernabéu, it was visitors Barca who emerged on the right side of nothing short of a remarkable result.

Owing to goals on the part of Robert Lewandowski (2), Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, the Blaugrana departed Spain’s capital with three points, by way of a 4-0 rout.

And, as alluded to above, wasting little time in making his delight with as much clear, was Gerard Piqué.

Taking to his official ‘X’ account on the back of the full-time whistle on Saturday night, ex-Barcelona defender and Spanish football icon Piqué wrote:

‘We’re unique. They will never be like us. With all the youngsters from the academy. What a recital. I’m so proud.’
