FC Bayern and Harry Kane would like to continue their partnership for the long term. One of the Englishman’s biggest dreams also plays a decisive role in this.
After his vacation, talks about extending Harry Kane’s contract are expected to gain momentum. The signs point to an agreement; after all, both sides have recently made it clear that they want to continue on this path together. But the negotiations involve far more than just the usual contract details.
As Sport BILD reports, Kane is already setting his sights on England’s upcoming major tournaments. After reaching the semifinals at the 2018 and 2026 World Cups and being eliminated in the quarterfinals in 2022, the Three Lions captain’s dream of a World Cup title remains undiminished. Added to that is the 2028 European Championship, which will be hosted by England, Scotland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland.
To be able to compete at the highest level in both tournaments, Kane wants to continue playing for a top European club in the coming years. According to information from Sport BILD, both sides in the negotiations therefore view a new contract running through at least 2029 as a sensible foundation. By then, the striker would be 35 years old.
But even this contract term might not be long enough for the Englishman. According to the report, Kane already has his sights set on the 2030 World Cup. The examples of Lionel Messi, who reached another World Cup final at age 39, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who played for Portugal at the World Cup at age 41, are meant to show Kane that this goal is entirely realistic. At the 2030 World Cup, the Bayern star would be only 36 years old.

That is precisely why the contract term could be the deciding factor. A longer contract would give FC Bayern more planning security and, at the same time, could help keep the Englishman’s financial demands somewhat lower. With a shorter term, however, Kane could insist on a higher salary.
For the record champions, however, the starting point is promising. Kane sees FC Bayern as the ideal club to achieve his athletic goals. His focus isn’t on a return to the Premier League, but rather on winning more titles with Bayern and fulfilling his big dream of a World Cup triumph with England.
