Just when it seemed like the fitness issues were easing up for Real Madrid leading up to their Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona, a new concern has popped up.
The Merengues have recovered Kylian Mbappe for the game while Raul Asencio and Rodrygo Goes are also set to be available after tests revealed no injuries post the semifinal win over Atletico Madrid.
However, according to journalist Miguel Angel Diaz, Ferland Mendy did not train with the rest of the group today as he is dealing with discomfort in one of his calves.
It is unclear at this point whether the 30-year-old left-back will be available to face Barcelona in the Super Cup final tomorrow in Jeddah.

Mendy has barely managed to stay fit this season, having missed the first few months of the season recovering from the injury he had sustained back in April 2025.
Having returned in October, the left-back made his first appearance of the season in November, in the UEFA Champions League game vs Olympiacos, but was immediately sidelined with a fresh muscle issue.
It led to Mendy missing five games in December, before making a comeback with a very short cameo vs Real Betis in the new year. The left-back also played for 20 minutes in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final vs Atletico earlier this week.
But, he is now experiencing discomfort in his calf and did not train with the squad on the eve of the final against Barcelona. As things stand, he is unlikely to play any part in the final.
