New details have emerged of Youssoufa Moukoko’s departure from Borussia Dortmund. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 20-year-old is set to undergo a medical on Friday while Sky Germany report the fee to be an initial €5m with a further €2m in performance related bonuses.

In terms on contract, Bold report that Moukoko will sign a five-year deal with Copenhagen where he will earn a salary just under €1m, but the German striker can increase his earnings to €1.75m through various bonuses. It’s a significant decrease from his reported €8.5m salary at Borussia Dortmund.

A chance to continue his development

After a failed loan spell at OGC Nice, a move to Copenhagen gives Moukoko an excellent opportunity to re-find his form. The 20-year-old struggled with just two goals and two assists across 11 league games, totalling 199 minutes. With just one year remaining on his contract at Dortmund, the Germany international has failed to live up to expectations and with a failed loan spell in France, has seen his market value half from €20m to €10m, per Transfermarkt.
