Real Madrid are eyeing two major full-back additions for the start of the 2025-26 season: Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alphonso Davies. However, their chances of signing the latter appear to be hanging on the edge after significant developments were made over the last 48 hours.
As per The Athletic (via Relevo), Bayern Munich have submitted another new offer to Davies’ representatives, and this one is more in line with the contract demands that had been established by the Canadian defender. As such, there is now more chance of him staying in Bavaria.
It is a four-year contract that is on the table, and it is accepted, Real Madrid’s chances of signing Davies would go up in smoke. Club bosses have been confident of the 24-year-old heading to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, but that looks far from certain now.
It remains to be seen how the Davies situation plays out, but if Real Madrid do miss out, it will be interesting to see whether they still address the left-back position in the summer, given the problems that they have faced there this season.
