After transfer insider Fabrizio Romano had already announced that the French international had accepted the Munich club’s contract offer, L’Équipe has now provided the decisive details. According to this, the last outstanding point has also been clarified – the exit clause. The official signing and announcement are to take place „in the next few days“

The exit clause is settled

According to L’Équipe, Upamecano will receive a fixed exit clause of €65 million in his new contract. Particularly important for FC Bayern: this clause will only take effect from the summer of 2027. Until then, the central defender is firmly tied to the record champions, which provides the Munich club with sporting and strategic planning security

It was precisely this point that had dragged out the talks recently, and now a compromise seems to have been found that is acceptable to both sides and opens up prospects for Upamecano without putting FC Bayern under pressure in the short term

The key financial figures of the new contract are also impressive. Upamecano is set to earn around €20 million per year in the future, bringing him into the salary region of the absolute top stars at Säbener Straße. The 27-year-old will also receive a generous €20 million hand money for signing the contract
