According to the latest media reports, FC Bayern are interested in Konstantinos Karetsas. The Belgian-Greek attacking all-rounder is considered one of the most exciting talents in Europe and has apparently been in Munich’s sights for some time
Konstantinos Karetsas is a name that has hardly made the headlines in Germany to date, but that is likely to change soon. The 18-year-old attacking player from KRC Genk has long since established himself as a force to be reckoned with in Belgium and is regarded as one of the biggest talents of his age group both in his adopted country and in Greece. FC Bayern have also taken notice of the dynamic playmaker
Despite his young age, Karetsas has developed into a regular at the top Belgian club and has impressed with his consistency, wit and maturity. This season, the attacking midfielder has scored twelve goals in 27 competitive matches – figures that are anything but a matter of course at this age
Karetsas has also made nine appearances for the Greek national team, in which he has scored three goals. Karetsas is a player who takes responsibility and is not afraid to take on big challenges

Karetsas first appeared on FC Bayern’s radar last summer, but a transfer did not materialise at the time, partly because the player deliberately decided against making an early move to a European heavyweight. According to Sport BILD, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany in particular is said to be a big supporter of the Greek. The Belgian knows the market inside out and values Karetsas‘ profile as a modern attacking all-rounder who can play in several positions
Karetsas is characterized by his close ball control, his dynamic dribbling and his ability to link up play between the lines. He often acts as a link between midfield and attack, actively seeks out one-on-one situations and impresses with his clean passing game – qualities that basically suit Bayern soccer perfectly
However, FC Bayern are far from alone in their pursuit of Karetsas. As the Belgian portal Voetbalnieuws reports, numerous top clubs are interested in the youngster. In addition to Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, FC Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are also said to be keeping an eye on the Genk professional. Karetsas is therefore almost free to choose his next career move
The contractual situation is a decisive factor here. Genk only recently extended the contract of its top talent until 2029. The current market value is around 28 million euros, albeit with a clear upward trend. According to Sky, there is also said to be a fixed exit clause of 40 million euros – a sum that is perfectly feasible for top European clubs
Nevertheless, there is currently little to suggest a move to Munich in the short term. FC Bayern’s attacking midfield is excellently stocked with Jamal Musiala, shooting star Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry. In terms of prospects, those responsible are also relying heavily on their own axis. Karetsas therefore remains a highly interesting name for the future – but more as an option for later than as an acute transfer target
