Josh has rejoined Stockport County, the club that gave him a platform in the professional game, as he was announced as the club’s new first team head physio.

Josh was handed his big chance by the Hatters back in 2008, and after only a handful of game he attracted interest from the likes of Man United and West Brom, but it was Tony Mowbray who swooped to bring the towering 19 year old 6ft 4in central defender to Glasgow for a fee in the region of £250,000.

Due to an injury crisis, Josh was thrown into the Celtic first team quicker than expected, and showed his quality, making 21 appearances and scoring three goals, which earned him the club’s Young Player of the Year award.

Unfortunately the last game of that campaign proved to be Josh’s last ever appearance in the green and white hoops, as he headed back down south, enjoying loan spells with Rochdale, Peterborough, and Chesterfield before cutting his ties permanently with the club in 2012.

After enduring injury troubles Josh retired from the game in 2020 and took up physiotherapy, cutting his teeth in Rugby with Salford Reds, before returning to football with Blackburn Rovers.

Josh is now back where it all began, and we wish him nothing but the best.
