Nuno Espirito Santo has made signing a new striker a top priority this Janaury.
The West Ham manager, who less that a month ago took over from Graham Potter, who was sacked by the club after a dreadful start to the Premier League season.
The club are currently sitting in 19th place in the league, however the arrival of Nuno has lifted the mood and belief in east London – albeit there is a long way to go to show that West Ham are capable of avoiding the drop this season.
It has recently been reported that German international striker Niclas Fullkrug is once again set for a spell on the side lines, with it hoped that Callum Marshall will be given a chance to impress under the former Nottingham Forest manager.
Nuno now has instructed the club to prioritise a new frontman and centre back in the new year, with the likes of Ivan Toney already being linked in a loan move from Saudi.
Although that appears somewhat unlikely at present, it is clear that the club are going to have to spend in January to avoid a catastrophic situation come the end of the season.
