Newcastle United officially confirm Liverpool bid for Alexander Isak | OneFootball

Friday saw news breaking hat Liverpool had finally made a formal bid to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

Nine weeks after the summer 2025 transfer window opened, widespread reporting that Liverpool had made a derisory offer of £110m.

Neither club gave an official reaction to that breaking news.

No official confirmation or denial from Newcastle United or Liverpool, about that reported formal offer, that is until now.

An update on Saturday seeing Newcastle United officially confirm that the bid from Liverpool was received AND rejected.

That official confirmation coming from Eddie Howe in South Korea, when asked about those media claims regarding a bid from Liverpool for Alexander Isak – 2 August 2025:

“I was made aware that there was a bid (for Alexander Isak from Liverpool) yesterday (Friday), that was turned down almost before I even heard about it.

“There are people back in England dealing with the situation.

“I am very much removed from anything that’s happening back home.

“I really don’t know what’s going to happen next.

“But from our perspective, we still support Alex in every way.
