Newcastle United are preparing a bid for Freiburg and Switzerland star Johan Manzambi, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 20-year-old is enjoying a standout World Cup with Switzerland, contributing three goals and two assists as they reached the Round of 16.

For Freiburg, Manzambi has 16 goal contributions in 47 games.
Transfermarkt values him at €50 million, and Freiburg are reportedly hoping for a fee of around €70 million.
With Switzerland still in the World Cup, it currently looks highly unlikely that Manzambi will return to Julian Schuster's side for the 2026/27 Bundesliga season.
Several clubs have been linked with the young playmaker, but Newcastle appear to have the upper hand at present.
