Neymar could make first clássico of the year for Santos against Corinthians | OneFootball

Neymar Jr is expected to make his first clássico of the year for Santos, with the forward potentially facing Corinthians on Sunday 15 at 16:00 at Vila Belmiro in the sixth round of the Brasileirão. According to Diario Do Peixe, the club’s No 10 could feature.

Since returning for a second spell, he has played only two derbies. Last year he faced Corinthians in the Paulistão, playing 68 minutes, then remained on the bench in the semi-final elimination to the same rivals.

In the Brasileirão he featured against Palmeiras at Vila Belmiro, starting and captaining in a 1-0 home win. Other derbies last season came while he was injured or not selected.

This year’s Paulistão brought a 1-0 loss to Palmeiras and a 2-0 defeat at São Paulo, either side of a 1-1 draw with Corinthians, while he recovered from arthroscopy. In the league, the 1-1 draw with São Paulo also came during his recovery.

Neymar’s clássico returns stand at 38% against Corinthians, 51% versus Palmeiras and 66% against São Paulo.

Against Palmeiras he has 13 games, six wins, two draws and five defeats, plus seven goals and five assists.
