Neymar is on Brazil’s provisional list for this month’s friendlies in the United States and remains under close CBF observation. According to Globo.com, he continues to be monitored closely by federation staff.
A place on the pre-list does not guarantee a call-up for the fixtures against France and Croatia on 26 and 31. The final list will be announced on Monday 16.
The Santos forward was previously named on an Ancelotti pre-list but has yet to be called by the Italian. He has not played for the Seleção since October 2023 after a serious knee injury.
On Tuesday, Carlo Ancelotti and men’s national team coordinator Rodrigo Caetano will attend Santos v Mirassol in the Campeonato Brasileiro at 21:30. Neymar has not been named in the squad due to muscle fatigue. The CBF has kept the trip despite his absence.
These will be Brazil’s final games before the World Cup squad announcement. The squad meets in Orlando on 23, using the Florida city as base for this FIFA window. They travel to Boston on 26, then return for the second match on 31. The final World Cup squad announcement is set for 19 May.
Rayan, formerly of Vasco and impressing at Bournemouth, is also on Ancelotti’s pre-list.
Igor Thiago and Endrick are likewise in favour, with the coach keen to watch them before deciding Brazil’s number nine for the World Cup. In defence, with Éder Militão injured and Alexsandro Ribeiro inconsistent at Lille, Léo Pereira and Bremer have been included in the pre-list.
