Neymar to report back to Santos on 17 July | OneFootball

Santos have set 17 July for Neymar’s return to the CT Rei Pelé, where he is expected to resume club duties after the World Cup.

According to Globo.com, the forward will fulfil the closing months of a deal that runs until 31 December 2026.

The No 10 indicated last Sunday’s meeting with Norway was his final appearance for Brazil. He scored a penalty in a 2-1 defeat that ended the five-time world champions’ run in the round of 16. Coach Cuca has been preparing the side without him for the restart.

Neymar has been on a break in the United States, and on Thursday he visited a theme park in Orlando with his family. He has not commented on his future, while his father has publicly urged him to keep playing, to find joy again and smile on the pitch, saying he is healthy.

Santos face Botafogo at the Engenhão at 19:30 Brasília time on 16 July, in the 19th round of the Brasileirão.

Gustavo Caballero is due back at the training ground on 14 July after representing Paraguay at the World Cup.

After Neymar’s reporting date, the first assignment is away to Universidad Central da Venezuela in the Copa Sul-Americana play-off, and his participation is uncertain.
