Nico Serrano signs new Athletic Bilbao contract, extending until 2028 | OneFootball

Athletic Club youngster Nico Serrano has signed a new contract at the Basque club just six months after returning from his loan at Racing Ferrol in the summer.

The 21-year-old has been just on the edge of the first team this season, having made three league appearances including one start.

Serrano has gotten some minutes in the Europa League as well as the Copa del Rey and Super Cup, as the winger seems to be one for the future in Bilbao.

The young winger has been on the books at Athletic Club since 2018 when he joined the club’s youth system from Villarreal. He has made 25 appearances in total during his time in the senior team.

Serrano’s renewal sees him extend until 2028, adding two more seasons to his tenure at the Bilbao-based club and shows that the club has faith in him for the future.

Serrano will be hoping he can push on with this contract renewal and try and carve himself a place in Ernesto Valverde’s starting XI.
