Chelsea have reportedly offered Manchester United an interesting proposal to take Nicolas Jackson off their hands before the close of the window.
Having wrapped up the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford respectively, United have now turned their full attention towards securing the services of a top-class striker.
At the moment, United’s primary target is RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who was settled upon after ruling out a swoop for Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins.
United have been in touch with both Leipzig and Sesko’s camp but the player’s price tag could be a hindrance in getting a deal over the line.
Newcastle, who are also strongly pursuing Sesko, had an opening bid worth an initial €75m plus an additional €5m in add-ons rejected by Leipzig, who are holding out for a total package closer to the €90m mark. The Magpies have since improved their offer but Sesko hasn’t made a decision regarding which club he wants to play for.
Another striker who has been strongly linked to the Red Devils is Jackson.
Jackson’s future at Chelsea is uncertain after the club signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. Jackson is facing a battle to keep his place in the starting XI, leading to speculation that he could part ways with the Blues for a club where he’d be guaranteed significant first-team minutes.
In addition to United, it’s been claimed that Jackson is also on the radar of Barcelona.
Now, it has come out that Chelsea have directly offered Ruben Amorim’s side the chance to land Jackson. The London outfit are even prepared to accept an initial loan agreement with an obligation to buy him at the end of the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.
According to talkSPORT, “Chelsea remain open to selling the 24-year-old for the right price, which is believed to be in the region of £80million.”
“He has been offered to Newcastle, Manchester United and AC Milan recently, with the two former clubs focusing on Benjamin Sesko for now.”
“The Blues could also be open to loaning Jackson, but would likely want an obligation to buy at the end of it.”
talksPORT note that several suitors remain attentive to Jackson and could approach Chelsea this month. Jackson netted 10 goals and provided five assists in 30 Premier League games last term.
