Nicole Ramos delivers assured display as Corinthians win at Atlético Mineiro in Brasileiro opener | OneFootball

Corinthians opened their Brasileirão Feminino campaign with a 1-0 victory at Atlético Mineiro on Friday at Arena MRV, as goalkeeper Nicole Ramos delivered an assured display.

According to Meu Timao, Ramos started and made four saves to keep a clean sheet across 90 minutes. She previously played for Atlético Mineiro in 2022 and 2023, featuring in 19 games.

The performance capped a pre-season spent returning from surgery on a complete rupture of the central band of the extensors of her fifth finger, suffered after the 2025 Copa Libertadores Feminina triumph. It was her first start since that injury.

Post-surgery, she had already appeared in the Supercopa do Brasil Feminina final, replacing Lelê under the concussion protocol after a head clash. Corinthians lost 5-4 on penalties and finished runners-up.

Before her lay-off, Ramos had taken the starting shirt. She has 50 appearances for Corinthians, with 32 wins, 13 draws and five defeats, a 72.67% win rate.

Her honours with the club include two Brasileirão titles and two Libertadores, in 2024 and 2025. Corinthians face Fluminense on Friday 20 at 21:30 at Neo Química Arena in round two.
