Sport Bild reports that Niko Kovac is open to Jadon Sancho returning to Borussia Dortmund. With the winger’s Manchester United contract due to expire at the end of the season, a free transfer has been mooted.
A third spell for Sancho at BVB is said to be taking clearer shape. Sebastian Kehl is viewed as the driving force, with Kovac in favour and sporting managing director Lars Ricken warming to the idea.
Sancho currently earns a reported €15 million per season at Manchester United. To make a comeback feasible, he would need to accept a significant pay cut, with around €7 million considered a more realistic annual salary for the 25-year-old.
This season he has been on loan at Aston Villa, scoring once and supplying one assist in 29 appearances across all competitions.
Any potential return would hinge on salary conditions being met, and talk of a move remains speculative.
