Norwich City are set to part ways with a player who starred under Johannes Hoff Thorup but has barely featured since Philippe Clement's arrival
Norwich City have enjoyed a remarkable run of form since the turn of the year under Philippe Clement, who has steered the Canaries firmly away from relegation trouble and up the Championship table after replacing Liam Manning.
The ex-Rangers and Monaco boss stepped into the Carrow Road hotseat back in November, by which stage Norwich were staring down the barrel of suffering relegation to League One.
Clement, however, has transformed the fortunes of the Canaries, who are now positioned in 12th place in a rich vein of form and find themselves much closer to the top-six than the drop zone.
Though it may just be too late for Norwich to stake a meaningful play-off charge at this late stage, there is considerable excitement about what could be achieved under Clement moving into the 2026/27 campaign and City have won 11 of their last 13 games under the Belgian's stewardship.
Not everybody at Norwich has reaped the rewards from the appointment of Clement, though, and while he has been an undoubted success at the club to date, there's one player in particular who has not benefited at all from his side's managerial change and is now set to depart outside of the transfer window in a freshly-emerging update.
The player in question is Emiliano Marcondes, with the Dane having been pushed down to the periphery since Clement's arrival and is edging closer to sealing an expected exit from Norwich.

This comes following a recent update from Expressen, which has reported that Marcondes is 'on the verge' of leaving the mid-table Championship outfit after the two parties came to an agreement to part ways.
There is no transfer fee involved, with Marcondes and Norwich having struck a deal for the playmaker to depart outside of the window as a free agent in order to find a new club.
Just last month, the 31-year-old explained that he was on the search for a move elsewhere ahead of the expiration of his Norwich contract this coming summer after Norwich tried to sanction a departure in January.
There are, of course, transfer windows that remain open around the world, with Sweden and Norway's not shutting until the end of this month.
It's said that the former Brentford and Bournemouth midfielder is garnering interest from clubs in those two countries ahead of a potential return to Scandanavia, with Marcondes himself reportedly interested in such a move.
The acquisition of Marcondes appeared to represent something of a coup when Norwich secured his signature as a free agent in October 2024, then under the management of fellow Dane Johannes Hoff Thorup, given the player's status as a two-time promotion winner from the Championship in years gone by.
That feeling was repaid when Marcondes enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Norwich by registering five goals and a further six assists from 33 appearances, but he failed to make his mark under Manning and has fallen further down the pecking order following Clement's arrival.

Marcondes has not made a single appearance since the start of January, having been in and out of the side during the Festive period, and he's managed one goal and two assists from 16 outings in the league this term.
Just seven of those have been starts, though, with the experienced attack-minded midfielder evidently not featuring in Clement's immediate or long-term thinking at Carrow Road, and this news perhaps shouldn't come as too much of a surprise.
It is, of course, somewhat surprising to see just how dramatically Marcondes' stock and standing with the Canaries has fallen in a short space of time, and he'll now be looking to bounce back and resurrect his career by sealing a move away from East Anglia in the coming days and weeks.
