Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Juventus to sign right-back Nicolo Savona in a deal worth more than €15 million.

Juventus general manager Damien Comolli confirmed the agreement on Thursday evening while attending the Champions League draw in Monaco.

He told Sky Sport Italia that the deal had been finalised earlier in the day, clearing the way for the Italian defender to complete a move to the Premier League.

Forest had been in lengthy discussions with the Serie A club throughout the week, having had earlier offers turned down.

Juventus initially rejected a proposal worth around €12m. The final package now surpasses €15m and includes additional clauses.

The 22-year-old is regarded as one of Juventus’ most promising academy graduates and has already broken into Italy’s under-21 side.

His current contract in Turin ran until 2030, placing the Bianconeri in a strong position during negotiations.

Despite that leverage, Juventus accepted Forest’s latest bid after extended talks.

The Premier League club are now working on the final paperwork, with a medical scheduled ahead of the weekend.

Forest view Savona as a key reinforcement for Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad as the transfer deadline approaches.

The Italian is expected to compete directly with Ola Aina for the right-back spot and provide greater depth in defence.

The move comes during an ambitious summer at the City Ground.

Omari Hutchinson has already joined from Ipswich Town in a £37.5m club-record transfer, while Dan Ndoye and Arnaud Kalimuendo have also been added to the squad.

Forest made Savona their top defensive target after tracking him closely last season.

Savona enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2024/25 under Juventus boss Igor Tudor, who praised his ‘great football intelligence’.

His performances also drew attention from Manchester City, who considered him as an option earlier this year.

Forest officials believe securing him ahead of rivals is a coup, demonstrating the club’s ability to compete for emerging European talent.
