Vitor Pereira’s injury headache could continue with Murillo, Jair Cunha, Dan Ndoye and Ibrahim Sangare among those potentially out of action for the clash with Chelsea.

With just three days between their Europa League semi-final first-leg victory against Aston Villa and their Premier League meeting with Chelsea, Nottingham Forest will be looking to keep their momentum going.

Aiming to put as many points between them and the relegation zone as possible with just four games left, Forest will have the chance to extend their unbeaten run of nine games across all competitions.

However, with such a short turnaround time, head coach Vitor Pereira admitted that his side could once again be without the services of some of its key players.

Murillo, Cunha, Ndoye and Sangare were all absent from Thursday’s game, and the Forest boss was not optimistic about their chances of return on Monday. Callum Hudson-Odoi has already been ruled out until the end of the season.

“Honestly, I don’t know (if any players will return from injury),” Pereira said. “We had bad luck to lose two wingers in Callum and Dan. We’ve had bad luck to lose two centre-backs in Murillo and Jair, and now Sangare.

“This is a big opportunity for the players who are working hard to play and to prove they are in the right condition to help us in this special moment of the season,” he continued. “I really don’t know if they will be available (Murillo and Jair Cunha). I have to wait for the three days and hopefully there will be good news about the injured players because we need them.

“Now this game is done, we will focus on Chelsea and I will try to check the availability of the players and hopefully get some good information from the medical team.”

Ola Aina was taken off in the second half against Villa after receiving treatment, but Pereira remained hopeful the defender would be ready to play.

“I said to him, I’m sorry but it’s impossible for you to be injured. He said he will be in the right condition, and I hope he will,” he said.
