Ola Aina is not expected to play again before December. The Nigerian right-back for Nottingham Forest suffered a hamstring injury on September 9 during the Nigeria vs South Africa match, part of the 8th round of qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Ola Aina left the pitch early during the clash between the Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana (1-1) on Tuesday, September 9 at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Upon returning to England, medical examinations revealed a hamstring injury. The injury is serious enough to keep the Nigerian defender out of action for several months.

According to local media, Nottingham Forest's medical staff estimate that he’ll be out for around three months, ruling the full-back out until the end of autumn. This is a huge setback for the new Tricky Trees manager. Ola Aina was a key figure in the defensive line under Nuno Espirito Santo, and he was expected to remain so under Ange Postecoglou, who was recently appointed head coach.
