Nottingham Forest will be without winger Dan Ndoye for Thursday’s Europa League last 16 first leg against Midtjylland at the City Ground, 8pm kick-off.

As reported by Nottingham Post, head coach Vitor Pereira is juggling European ambitions with a Premier League survival fight, with Fulham visiting on Sunday.

Pereira said centre-back Jair Cunha is available despite missing training on Wednesday morning, and he believes Ndoye will miss out. He added the issues are not serious.

Goalkeeper Matz Sels has been restored to the Europa League squad after injury, and Pereira said he will play. Stefan Ortega, who covered in the previous round, is out with a calf problem sustained against Fenerbahce last month and may miss a couple of matches.

Pereira said he will try to strike the right balance, aiming to be competitive on Thursday and again against Fulham. He highlighted the squad’s quality and work-rate, and stressed the focus is on themselves and the next match.
