Oliver Glasner’s first week at Nottingham Forest has quickly pivoted to recruitment, with links to Fiorentina right-back Dodo and fresh noise around Feyenoord prospect Givairo Read.

The Austrian met his squad on Monday at the Nigel Doughty Academy as preparations for 2026/27 began. According to Viola News, Dodo views the Premier League as a wish come true and is seen as almost certain to leave Fiorentina this summer.

The report adds talks with Napoli, Roma and Inter have not shifted his situation, making a move to England increasingly plausible. Forest and Newcastle United are said to have enquired. The 27-year-old has 12 months left on his contract and more than 100 Fiorentina appearances.

Voetbal International reports Forest had an offer for 20-year-old Read rejected and are expected to try again, though a significantly higher bid would be required to progress.

Pundit Dennis van Eersel, speaking on the RTV Rijnmond podcast, argued the proposal could not be taken seriously, likening it to a token bid for a luxury car and suggesting only a much larger sum would start talks.

Forest are likely to stick to firm valuations and not be pushed beyond them. It has been suggested they already view Read’s price as high. Recruiting young players who can develop and hold resale potential remains central, but only at the right numbers.
