Nottingham Forest are weighing up changes to their loan group as uncertainty builds around Douglas Luiz and Zinchenko, with a striker search gathering pace.

According to Nottingham Post, Zinchenko arrived on a season-long loan from Arsenal but has struggled to make an impact, and his stay could be cut short. It has been reported there is no break clause in his deal, and Arsenal’s squad is already full, so a return would be complicated.

Douglas Luiz’s City Ground future is also in question, with his loan carrying a conditional, appearance-based obligation to buy. Head coach Sean Dyche has said he does not select on that basis, but club figures are mindful of the situation. Reports in Italy have suggested parent club Juventus have spoken with Forest about solutions, and the Serie A side are said to be unwilling to use him, while Vasco da Gama would welcome him back.

Up front, Fenerbahce’s Youssef En-Nesyri has been identified, and competition is intensifying. Napoli are now credited with interest, Everton have also been linked, and it has been reported the player would prefer Merseyside over joining the Reds.

Brighton and Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson, currently on loan at Roma, is on Forest’s radar, though rivals are circling. Roma are eyeing Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee, and an exit there is said to be needed first. If Ferguson returns to Brighton, Real Betis and Napoli are rumoured to be ready to move.

Meanwhile, Palmeiras have been looking at defender Morato, but reports suggest Forest are not prepared to let the centre-back leave midway through the season.
