Talks on Monday will see the club and head coach go their separate ways
Nuno Espirito Santo is set to leave his role as West Ham manager.
The decision comes after the Hammers were relegated to the Championship on Sunday despite a 3-0 win over Leeds.
Standard Sport understands the club and the Portuguese manager are preparing to part company following a meeting on Monday morning. Scott Parker is a candidate for the vacancy.
There had been doubt in recent weeks over whether the former Tottenham head coach would stay at West Ham in the event that they were relegated.
He would not be drawn on his future when asked about it at the London Stadium in the aftermath of the club’s relegation on Sunday evening.
“It’s not about me,” he said. “We are in a tough place and West Ham has to go back in the Premier League.
“But now we have to go through this period of sadness, understanding the frustration and anger of the fans.”
Nuno won nine Premier League games since replacing the sacked Graham Potter in September, but finished two points off safety come the full-time whistle on Sunday.
Parker is the early favourite to take the role, having left Burnley at the end of April with relegation confirmed.
Player-turned-manager spent a little over four seasons at West Ham, including their last relegation to the Championship in 2012.
He has since become somewhat of a promotion specialist as a manager, starting by guiding Fulham back to the top flight via the play-offs in 2020 in his first full season as a head coach.
Parker has also earned automatic promotion with Bournemouth and then Burnley, finishing the latter season with 100 points.
