Arsenal will face off against Port Vale at Vale Park this Wednesday night as they hope to secure a win on the road in the EFL Cup. The Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester City recently, so they would be desperate to return to winning ways in midweek.

Mikel Arteta will stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a lot of tweaks to his first team for this clash. Ethan Nwaneri, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Bukayo Saka could all play from the start of this game.

4-3-3 Arsenal Predicted Lineup To Face Port Vale

Defence

Kepa Arrizabalaga will feature in between the sticks for the Gunners as he looks to keep a clean sheet this week. Cristhian Mosquera will play alongside Gabriel at the heart of the Arsenal backline as they look to keep a good shape defensively throughout the game.

Ben White will fill in as the right-back, while Myles Lewis-Skelly looks to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get a chance to go forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.

Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber will be named on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Ethan Nwaneri, Christian Norgaard and Mikel Merino will make up Arsenal’s midfield. They would all look to retain possession well at the centre of the park and engineer a few clear-cut chances on the offensive end of the pitch.

Mikel Merino and Martin Zubimendi will have to settle for a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Gabriel Martinelli will function as the left-sided wide player, while Bukayo Saka looks to weave his magic from the right flank. Both of them will try to get in behind the opposition’s backline whenever they can.

Leandro Trossard will spearhead Arteta’s attack up top. He would be eager to find the back of the net versus Port Vale this Wednesday night.

Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if the Gunners need a goal by then.
