La Liga giants Real Madrid look set to be without the services of another member of the club’s defensive ranks for their upcoming meeting with Espanyol.

This comes amid confirmation of Dean Huijsen being hit with a La Liga suspension.

The last week has of course been something of a cruel one to Real Madrid on the personnel front.

As much comes after both Antonio Rüdiger and Trent Alexander-Arnold were condemned to incoming spells on the sidelines through injury.

Xabi Alonso and co, in turn, will be forced to see out a crucial stretch of the campaign without a pair of key defenders.

And as alluded to above, this weekend, a third Blancos stopper looks set to be unavailable, too.

As confirmed on Wednesday, Dean Huijsen has been hit with a one-game ban for his controversial red card against Real Sociedad.

As per Real Madrid insider José Félix Díaz, the capital outfit intend to appeal the sanction, but as things stand, Huijsen will not be eligible to take to the pitch against Espanyol on Saturday.
