La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have this weekend announced a fresh departure from the club’s first-team ranks.

This comes amid confirmation that midfielder Rodrigo De Paul has sealed a move to Major League Soccer, with Inter Miami.

The name of Argentine international De Paul had of course emerged as a prominent one in the transfer chatter in Spain’s capital over recent days.

This came after word was forthcoming that the former Udinese man was the subject of mounting interest on the part of Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.

With Johnny Cardoso already secured the summer, Atlético, in turn, opened the door to a sale for the right price.

And as alluded to above, this weekend, as much was evidently met by the Inter Miami board.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Atléti:

‘Rodrigo De Paul is saying goodbye to Atlético de Madrid and will continue his professional career with Inter Miami CF. We wish you the best in this new professional challenge, Rodri!’
