FC Barcelona will be kicking off their game against Newcastle United soon. Both teams will be locking horns at the Spotify Camp Nou, and this home-field advantage is something that the Catalan giants will hold quite dearly in this encounter.
However, a win here is necessary for the team that wants to end up going through to the next round. Fortunately, Hansi Flick has a great squad at his disposal, and he has managed to sort out the eleven players he wants to start this game.
Here is the official starting eleven for La Blaugrana ahead of this clash.
In goal, Joan Garcia starts for Barcelona, and he will look to keep Newcastle United at bay. He did a fairly good job in the first leg, but he will want to be even better in this particular encounter.
Ahead of him, Pau Cubarsi and Gerard Martin start together as the two centre-backs. Both players have a good record together, and they will be looking to continue that fine run of form.
On the flanks, Eric Garcia and Joao Cancelo start as the team’s two full-backs. Both of them will be tasked with offensive and defensive duties, but they have the quality and experience to see them through.
In the midfield, Pedri is paired up with Marc Bernal to start this crucial fixture. Both of them will be essential in helping Barça control the tempo of the game, and they will need to be at their very best to ensure that.
Ahead of him, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha start on the wings, and they will look to trouble Newcastle United in this game. In between them, Fermin Lopez starts as the team’s central attacking midfielder.
Lastly, up top, Robert Lewandowski starts for Barcelona, and he will look to make things difficult for Newcastle United. While Ferran Torres seemed to be the likely candidate to start, Flick has decided to go with the Polish veteran instead.
