La Liga giants Barcelona have on Thursday announced a contract renewal for midfield star Fermín López.
Youngster Fermín is of course now considered an integral member of the first-team setup at Barcelona, when it comes to present and future alike.
The 21-year-old is fresh off a breakout campaign in 2023/24, which saw him rack up a head-turning 11 goals across all competitions.
As much was followed by a thoroughly productive summer, too, Fermín having followed up on Spain’s triumph at Euro 2024 by proving himself the country’s star performer en route to Olympic gold.
His influence in the setup of new head coach Hansi Flick has been limited to date, owing to a pair of fitness problems.
But the midfielder provided a reminder of his all-action stylings last week, in laying on a pair of assists in his returning to starting duties against Bayern Munich.
And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, such long-time excellence on Fermín’s part has paid dividends.
As per a statement released across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms, the club’s engine room starlet has put pen to paper on a new contract through the summer of 2029:
