Gonçalo Ramos is officially a Milan player, becoming the summer’s first signing.
Rúben Amorim wanted a top striker to lead his attack at Milan and Gerry Cardinale opened the wallet and gave him his number one pick – Gonçalo Ramos, who today officially joins.
The Portuguese is Milan’s most expensive transfer in history, with a reported total cost of around €74m plus bonuses.
The official statement of the Rossoneri reads:
“AC Milan today announced the signing of Gonçalo Matias Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain FC.
“The Portuguese striker has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2031.
“Born in Olhão on 20 June 2001, Gonçalo Ramos honed his talent in the youth academies of S.C. Olhanense and S.L. Benfica, where he rose through the ranks before making his professional debut in 2019. He went on to make over 100 appearances and score 41 goals for Benfica, emerging as one of Portugal’s most exciting talents and helping the club secure the Primeira Liga title in the 2022/23 season.
“In the summer of 2023, he joined Paris Saint-Germain FC, where he has continued to compete at the highest level of European football. During his time in Paris, he has won three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies, three Trophée des Champions, two UEFA Champions League titles, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Intercontinental Cup, while scoring 45 goals in 131 appearances.
“Since making his senior international debut for Portugal in November 2022, Ramos has become a regular presence for his national team, representing his country at two FIFA World Cups and contributing to Portugal’s UEFA Nations League triumph in the 2024/25 season.
“AC Milan welcomes Gonçalo Ramos and wishes him every success with the Rossoneri.”
