Official: Milan receive €10m boost as Genoa confirm Colombo transfer | OneFootball

Genoa have officially announced the signing of striker Lorenzo Colombo on a permanent deal from Milan following a successful loan spell in 2025-26, which is set to benefit the Rossoneri to the tune of €10m.

Colombo joined Genoa on loan with a potential obligation to buy at the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign. There had been reports that the release clause would be triggered in the event that Genoa secured Serie A survival and that the striker scored five or more goals in the league. The 24-year-old is up to seven goals from 37 outings in Serie A this term.

Genoa have confirmed that Colombo has put pen to paper on a three-year contract, running until the summer of 2029.

Reports at the time of Colombo’s loan move to Genoa confirmed that the obligation to buy clause was for €10m.

Despite the fact that he has only made five top-flight appearances for Milan, this is Colombo’s first permanent move away from the Rossoneri, having spent the last 16 years on the club’s books. He has spent the last five seasons out on loan, with Cremonese, SPAL, Lecce, Monza, Empoli and most recently Genoa.

“I wanted to form a bond with a club, a team and a place like this and I will do my best to repay the trust and support that the club, coach, my teammates and the fans have shown me,” Colombo said in a statement on the Genoa website.

“I’m happy to continue playing in the Rossoblu jersey. Genoa is Genoa. I’m obsessed with the atmosphere that we see in the stadium every game and I’m aware of the heritage that we represent for tens of thousands of supporters.”
