In a devastating blow, Real Madrid have confirmed that midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has suffered a serious injury during last night’s win over Getafe.

“Following tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a complete tear of the left adductor tendon. Pending evolution,” the statement from the club read.

Camavinga was not part of the starting XI against Getafe last night but came on as a substitute at half-time, replacing David Alaba, who himself felt some discomfort.

A late duel with an opposition player led to the injury which prompted manager Carlo Ancelotti to take him off, leaving Real Madrid with only ten men in the final few minutes of the match.

Now it has been confirmed that Camavinga has a complete tear of his left adductor tendon.

While the update from the club does not mention a specific recovery timeline, journalist Fabrizio Romano states that the season is over for the French midfielder.

Indeed, Camavinga is not expected to make it back before the ongoing season is over while the youngster is also set to miss the FIFA Club World Cup in the summer. His return will now take place in the 2025/26 season.
