Real Madrid have had a very busy summer so far. Even before the start of the transfer window, they have already completed four new signings, i.e., Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, and Denzel Dumfries for the defense, and Bernardo Silva for the midfield. On the other hand, they have also completed one departure, that of the midfielder Dani Ceballos.
Meanwhile, another important operation that the Merengues have completed is the one involving the midfielder Nico Paz, who showed an amazing degree of growth during the last season playing with the Serie A side Como.
Taking advantage of the leap the Argentine has made, the white club has worked out quite a complex future framework for him, as they exercised their €9 million release clause on the player, while giving the option to Como to re-sign him, and get 50% of his rights, for €60 million this very summer. If the Italians decided to avail this offer, Real Madrid would have a €80 million buyback option for the next summer.
Recent reports suggested that Como had already agreed on this setup, and had informed the Merengues of their decision. Similarly, the player’s father also revealed that this operation is already complete.
In such a context, MARCA notes that Real Madrid have officially confirmed this transfer today. Their statement went as follows:
“Real Madrid C.F., Como 1907, and Nico Paz have reached an agreement for the player to remain at the Italian club for the 2026-2027 season.
This agreement, which has been made at the player’s own request, also provides that Real Madrid retains a unilateral buy-back option for Nico Paz’s federative rights for the 2027-2028 season.”
While not revealing most of the details of this transfer, Real Madrid have published a statement that confirms some important aspects of the deal. They will have the right to get the player next year, which they can exercise unilaterally. Although they did not mention the cost of this option, reports have suggested a €80 million figure.
Hopefully, Nico Paz will continue growing for another year at Como, and then return to the Merengue club as an even more proven and experienced player.
