As was widely expected, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has announced that all the matches scheduled for this weekend in the community of Valencia, including Real Madrid’s La Liga clash against Valencia, have been postponed.
The Valencian community has been severely affected by the DANA which has caused fatalities and numerous material damages due to flooding in the region.
Given the situation, Los Che had requested La Liga for the postponement of the encounter against Real Madrid, with the league in turn forwarding the request to RFEF.
Now, the Spanish Federation has confirmed that the match, along with several others that were scheduled to be played in the region this weekend, will not be going ahead.
The matches that have been pushed forward are Villarreal vs Rayo Vallecano, Valencia vs Real Madrid, CD Castellón vs RC Ferrol, CD Eldense vs SD Huesca and Levante vs Malaga CF.
It will be interesting to see when the match between Valencia and Real Madrid will be rescheduled for, as there is not much room on the calendar given the already cramped schedule.
