OGC Nice and Paris FC have been linked with him. The 34-year-old is interested in playing in France having spent the whole of his career in the United Kingdom.

He bagged 144 goals and 148 assists in 565 games for Rangers, but they decided to move on from him after he failed to help then knock Celtic off their perch in Scotland.

Rangers started 2026-27 with a 1-1 draw at Dundee United on Friday night.

They are back in action on Thursday when they visit Poland to take on Jagiellonia Bialystok in the first-leg of their Europa League third-qualifying round tie.

Rangers host Hibernian in their first league game at home next Sunday and will be desperate to pick up all three points.

They were underwhelming across all competitions last term and will need significant improvement to impress this season.

They have signed Dan Neil, Ivan Pandur, Ben Godfrey, Lawrence Shankland, Ross McCrorie, Cammy Devlin, Vanja Dragojevic and Olwethu Makhanya this summer.
