Kail Boudache (19) netted the goal that put OGC Nice back ahead against AS Saint-Étienne in Friday night’s Ligue 1 promotion/ relegation play-off. Defeat to ASSE would have sent Boudache’s formative club down to Ligue 2.
That goal, his third for the club, looks set to be a parting gift, as do the two goals then scored by Elye Wahi, as Nice ran out 4-1 winners. The Ivory Coast international will return to Eintracht Frankfurt, but it is unclear whether he will remain at the Bundesliga side.
Boudache, meanwhile, will remain in France. Nice have been trying to get the forward to sign a first professional deal with the club, however, he is now expected to join Ligue 1 rivals Olympique Lyonnais. L’Équipe understands that his move to OL will be completed on Monday.
He is set to sign a three-year deal with Les Gones. It will be his first professional deal, having rejected the chance to remain with Le Gym.
