Kevin Carlos (25) has rejected an initial approach from EFL Championship club Preston North End, according to a report from L’Équipe. The Spaniard has also rejected an approach from Turkish club Samsunspor, as Nice look to offload the forward.
In a bid to decrease their wage bill, raise funds, and dip into the market themselves, Nice are looking to sell and sell in great quantity this summer. The club are notably desperate to offload Terem Moffi, who spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Porto, whilst Mohamed-Ali Cho is being strongly linked with a move to local rivals AS Monaco.
Ideally, however, Nice would likely rather offload Carlos, who signed for €6m from FC Basel last summer. The Spaniard has struggled greatly, with the centre-forward failing to score in 23 appearances in Ligue 1. His only goals (two) came in the UEFA Europa League.
Carlos has already rejected an approach from Samsunspor and his entourage have rejected Preston’s initial approach, too.
