Aston Villa are preparing to face Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium in the Premier League this Saturday. This match can prove to be very important for Villa as the team has gained only one point from the first three league matches and is currently 19th in the table. Injury problems have increased their troubles as Boubacar Kamara, Amadou Onana and Andres Garcia will not be available for this match.
There are also doubts about the fitness of Matty Cash. However, the return of Emiliano Martinez can give relief to the team. Apart from this, new players Harvey Elliott, Jadon Sancho and Victor Lindelof are ready for selection. At the same time, Everton are in good form and are fifth after winning the last two league matches under David Moyes.
Emiliano Martinez’s return as the goalkeeper is almost certain. His experience and reliable performance will provide a strong base for the team. Ezri Konsa is likely to get a chance on the right side, while Lucas Digne is certain to play on the left side. While Konsa will provide defensive strength, Digne will challenge Everton’s defence with his overlapping and crosses.
The pair of Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings can form the centre-back pairing. The coordination of these two and a strong presence in the box will be very important to stop Everton’s attack. The Toffees have made a habit of scoring goals in recent matches, so Villa’s defence will have to remain completely disciplined.
Captain John McGinn’s name comes first in midfield. His efficiency and constant energy have always been valuable for the Lions. Along with him, Youri Tielemans is also likely to get a place in the starting eleven as the pivot. The Belgian is known for his passing efficiency and ability to control the game.
The combination of both can play a decisive role against Everton’s strong midfield. Harvey Elliott is expected to play in the attacking midfield role. This young player, who recently came on loan from Liverpool, is good with this passing and ability to create chances. He can act as a link between midfield and attack and can make Everton’s backline uncomfortable with his pressing ability.

Looking at the attack, Donyell Malen is expected to play on the right wing. Malen’s pace and ability to make runs in behind the defence will give Villa momentum. Morgan Rogers can be played on the left wing, who has shown some good moments in the early matches, and he can link up with the team’s striker.
The role of striker will once again be in the hands of Ollie Watkins. The Englishman has not been able to score a goal so far this season, but his record against Everton has been good. In such a situation, Villa would like him to find his rhythm in this match and make up for the lack of goals.
