Olympique de Marseille are keen on signing Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas this summer, according to Foot Mercato.
Since joining Liverpool from Olympiacos, the Greek international has played second fiddle to Andrew Robertson.
However, an even more diminished role awaits this season after the arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.
Marseille’s need for a new left-back is prompted by the departure of Quentin Merlin earlier this summer, leaving Ulisses Garcia as the only natural option to fill that position.
Tsimikas has two years left on his current contract, but could be on his way out of Anfield this summer in search of more playing time.
He played 29 matches in all competitions for Liverpool in the 2024/25 campaign, although most of them came off the bench.
The 29-year-old possesses valuable top-flight experience and would be a welcome addition for Marseille ahead of a return to the Champions League.
Last season’s Ligue 1 runners-up have been busy this summer with nine new players added already, including record signing Igor Paixao.
However, Roberto De Zerbi’s side were beaten in their league opener against Stade Rennais on Friday despite playing over one hour with a man advantage.
Jonathan Rowe and Adrien Rabiot were involved in a violent altercation after the game, which has since led to both players being excluded from the squad and placed on the transfer list.
Needing a victory to lift the mood after a turbulent couple of days, Les Phoceens will welcome newly promoted Paris FC to the Orange Velodrome on Saturday.
