Nayef Aguerd
On Saturday night against Lens, Nayef Aguerd wore the captain's armband for OM. The Moroccan defender shared his thoughts after the match.
RC Lens secured a home victory over OM this Saturday, wrapping up a match filled with intensity. The Lens side managed to outplay Marseille, who lacked sharpness both defensively and offensively. Captain for the evening, Nayef Aguerd had little to blame himself for. However, the Moroccan was visibly frustrated after the final whistle.
"I think we have to stick together. The score doesn't reflect the match we played. We played well. We're disappointed with the result, it's down to small details... we knew it was going to be tough at Lens. We've shown we can pick up points away from home, but we conceded from a penalty and a corner. We need to fix those mistakes and move forward. We have to be clinical at both ends of the pitch. We had a great start, we controlled the game. They scored from their only two chances. I try to bring something extra, the coach chose me to be captain. I don't care about being captain, I just wanted to win the match... it's a shame." he said.
