Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has given a peak through the curtain into how the dressing room has helped him settle to life in England.

The 26-year-old joined the Blues in January from Eintracht Frankfurt as Pep Guardiola’s cries for some inspiration in attack were answered by the Manchester City board, who have not slowed down with their moves in the transfer marker since.

Marmoush joined City as one of the most feared attackers in Germany and has caught the eye with a strong start to life in a sky blue jersey, particularly considering his arrival came midway through Guardiola’s most challenging season as a manager.

The Egypt international scored a series of crucial goals in Manchester City’s 2024-25 run-in and the best of the lot came in Kevin De Bruyne’s final home game at the Etihad Stadium, with Marmoush finding the top corner from 35 yards to break the deadlock.

Despite a late collapse against Al-Hilal that saw City’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign end on Tuesday, the Blues seem to have turned a corner with a strong set of displays in the United States as they prepare for pre-season.

Marmoush, who was thrown straight into the mix following his arrival in January, has finally had some time to step back and ease into life at Manchester City, which has been made a walk in the park by the comradery in the dressing room.

“We’ve spent so much time together, sitting together at breakfast, lunch and dinner,” Marmoush said

“Also, between sessions and after sessions we have free time that we’re spending together. That brings the chemistry up and makes us feel like a big family.

“Having fun every day helps a lot to improve the chemistry and play better on the pitch.”

Marmoush will be desperate to lead Manchester City back to the Premier League title next term as Guardiola and co search for a fifth league crown in six seasons – after Arne Slot led Liverpool to the title in his first season in charge of the Reds last term.

The Egyptian was also the subject of spotlight on social media recently as videos emerged of Marmoush singing an Arabic song for his Manchester City initiation – a very old tradition in English football for new signing to gel with their new teammates.

“I sang a song in Arabic and I chose that because there was no music,” Marmoush added.

“I said I’ll sing that because no one understands Arabic so I can just say anything!”
