The LA Galaxy finished the 2019 MLS regular season with the fifth seed at 51 points. The Portland Timbers and Dallas FC ended up being just points away from them in the West.
The 2-0 shutout victory for the LA Galaxy against Dallas FC helped their playoff positioning. That 2-0 loss to Dallas FC also spoiled Ibrahimovic's MLS debut.
The game on August 14, 2019 saw both teams scoreless through halftime. It was after Julian Araujo's offsideds call in the 53rd minute that called for his substitution as Uriel Antuna replaced him.
Then, about 15 minutes later, Zlatan scores off a pass from Jørgen Skjelvik. The LA Galaxy never looked back in this one.
However, that didn't stop them from achieving another goal. On Ibrahimovic's brace, his second score came off a penalty kick in the 82nd minute. It also marked the second time in the game where the Swedish soccer sensation connected on the bottom left corner of the goal.
LA Galaxy goalkeeper David Bingham recorded the shutout. This game would not only be his eighth clean sheet but his last one of the 2019 MLS season.
While both teams are currently look from the outside in on the playoff picture this season, the LA Galaxy host Dallas FC in less than three weeks on Saturday, August 30.
