Manchester City return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Wolves at Molineux on Sunday. Pep Guardiola’s side will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten start to the season against Gary O’Neill’s side. A new report indicates that there is good news on the injury front for the world champions. But the status of one of City’s most dangerous weapons appears unknown ahead of this weekend’s match.

Ben Ransom of SkyNews reported yesterday via X that Nathan Ake had returned to training yesterday. The Dutch international has been sidelined with a hamstring injury. That is welcome news for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. Furthermore, Ransom reported that Manuel Akanji, Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne weren’t sighted during the opening 15 minutes of City’s training session yesterday. Lastly, Ransom added that Ederson and Savinho didn’t train after playing for Brazil.

The return of Nathan Ake to training is welcome news for Manchester City. Ake’s loss has meant that City have been a defender short since he was injured on international duty in September. Ake has been missed by the world champions despite their unbeaten start to the season. But while Ake has returned to training it is expected that he will be eased back into the fold by Pep Guardiola.

Kevin De Bruyne’s condition remains a concern for Manchester City. De Bruyne has been out since City’s nil-all draw with Inter Milan last month. The hope was that he would return after the international break. But that remains to be seen based off of Ben Ransom’a report yesterday.

An update on the condition of the City squad is expected when Pep Guardiola fronts the media later today. The City manager will be hoping to have the majority of his squad available this weekend.
